Premium PortsNovember 5, 2009 at 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm Location: Gordon's Fine Wine & Culinary Center - 894 Main St, Waltham Cost: $20 per person Nothing beats the cold, finishes a dinner, and goes with a cigar quite like it..."IT" being porto of course. This classic fortified beverage comes in so many forms and variations, it's hard to keep them all straight. Our solution - taste TEN different ports next to one another (why didn't you think of that, right?). Well the other thing about port which you probably already know is you often pay for all that goodness. So for $20, you can peruse a vast lineup and find your fave(s).
Roquefort and chocolate will be served.
Arnold Trabb of Premium Port Wines will be presenting the following. Representing some of the most renowned port houses, Arnold is a wealth of knowledge on the subject and will give great insight into all the nuances of this elusive beverage. He will make it a point to particularly elaborate on the significance of vintage in terms of port and in the context of the most recently declared vintage: 2007.
