Gloria Bakst - Chef/AuthorGloria Bakst is a lifelong food lover who has been teaching cooking since graduating from Ohio State University and U-Mass Boston with a Master’s Degree in Counseling. Gloria worked as a Zone Certified Instructor, at ZonePerfect Nutrition for seven years. There, she helped thousands of people to better understand the importance of food to good health and a good life. Her weekly “Cooking with Gloria” column was a popular feature on the ZonePerfect website for 7 years.
After sharing her cooking skills with friends and clients throughout the years, Gloria finally came to the conclusion that she ought to publish a cookbook. It would showcase her nutritious, fast, cook-friendly and delicious healthful recipes and lifestyle tips. When McGraw-Hill approached her about publishing her recipes in the fall of 2004, Gloria was ready. Zone Perfect Cooking Made Easy, available in bookstores in September, is the result of that collaboration. When Abbott Laboratories acquired ZonePerfect in 2003 Gloria started her own company called Balanced Nutritional Lifestyles. The mission of her company is straightforward: to help people make positive changes in their health through better eating and lifestyles. She teaches people how to comfortably achieve optimal health through their diet and lifestyle to prevent and reverse disease. A nutritional lifestyle consultant, health educator, and lecturer, Gloria also provides unique personal chef services for clients who do not want to cook but want to achieve specific health and fitness goals through food management. |
