In the Vineyard: Grapegrowing and Winemaking in MassachusettsAugust 15, 2009 at 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm Location: Turtle Creek Vineyards & Winery, Lincoln, MA Cost: $30 per person Come learn what goes into making a world-class wine from the ground up! Turtle Creek Winery in Lincoln, MA has been making world-class wines in the shadow of Boston for the past decade. Owner and winemaker Kipton Kumler and his staff will walk you through his vineyard and answer questions about everything under the sun: from planting and pruning to fermentation and filtering. The session ends with a tasting of locally made wines and cheeses in Turtle Creek's winery. Come learn about the making of great wines from Massachusetts' leading winery.
So you've gone to tastings, sat through seminars, ordered fancy bottle at restaurants - but there's no better way to learn about the wine making process than seeing it in action! Kip has a beautiful property and a full functioning winery in the basement of his house! It is really impressive. We hope you can join us for this fun afternoon of grapes, fermentation, and tasting! Some light snacks will be provided at the end, and provided it is a nice day we can enjoy some wine and food outside. You're welcome to bring your own food as well. Wine will be available for purchase at the winery.
We can accommodate up to 15 people for this outing. Everyone is responsible for their own transportation. We encourage carpooling from Gordon's, as parking is limited. The property is only a 10-15 min drive from the Main St store.
*Please remember to dress for the weather as portions of this class will be conducted outdoors. |
