Dinner Party 101: Fish & Seafood

Have you ever wondered what the tricks are to cook for a group of people in a seamless manner? Where do you start? How do you make sure everything's cooked on time? What are the best menus for dinner parties?  Well look no further - we will try to answer and resolve these and other dinner party "mysteries" in our cooking series "Dinner Party 101."

 

Whether you're a 20-something living with roommates, newlyweds, or folks that really just like to entertain, this class will give you some great tools and ideas for hosting dinner parties at your house. Chef Yvette Taylor will put together a menu for each class, usually around some theme, and people will work in 2s and 3s to complete the different dishes. Everyone will get to sample all the dishes and taste some wines to go with each. Recipes AND “game plans,” ie cooking schedules included.

 

All dishes for this class will revolve around seasonal fish and seafood.

 

 

The Menu

Poached Salmon with Lemongrass Ginger Tea, Tomato Oatmeal Risotto with Thai Basil and Green Peas Sauce with Italian Pancetta

Hawaiian Shrimp with Coconut, Pineapple, Mint and Baby Arugula

Roasted Fennel, Tomatoes, Chorizo and Mustard Seed  Ragout on Cod
 

 

Class is limited to 8-12 people.

 

For all culinary center events after 6 PM, we ask that you park in the fenced-in lot behind the culinary center off of Prospect St. You can enter the culinary center through the doors under the maroon awning. If you park in the Main St lot, you will be asked to move your vehicle. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
